Walter Zanetti received his diploma in guitar from the conservatory in Bologna. In 1984 he joined Alberto Ponce's class at the "Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris", and received the "Diplome Supérieur de Concertiste," the highest award of this school. He has won several of the most important international contests: "Ville de Carpentras", Bartoli award at Salon-de-Provence,"Pujol" contest in Sassari and third prize and public award in Namur, Belgium.
He has toured Spain, France, Germany, Austria and Poland, performing in the Conservatory in Madrid, Salle Cortot in Paris, the Musikhalle in Hamburg, and other prestigious European venues. He has recorded for several European broadcasting companies, including Rai, National Radio of Spain, Belgian Radiotelevision and Polish television. He has performed as a soloist with the Haydn orchestra of Bolzano, the Byzantine Academy, the K. Szymanowsky Orchestra of Katovia and the Belgian National Orchestra, with which he has recently recorded a CD of the Aranjuez concert by Rodrigo. He teaches at the C. Monteverdi conservatory in Bolzano, Italy. |
