Chandan Narayan iis an acoustic phonetician, a Sanskrit expert and an explorer in the non-traditional aural potential of the autoharp, using extended techniques.
He records and performs with the acoustic improvisational trio glass plates in Vancouver, BC, as well as an amplified trio of improvisers in Ann Arbor, MI, Beak Full of Rubies. Chandan spent much of the 1990's recording and touring (as a bassist) with the seminal anarcho-punk group Strawman in San Francisco, as well as the trio Kublai Khan in Berkeley, CA. Later he provided double bass duties for the Oakland, CA group, Winfred E. Eye. |
