Antonio Politano’s interest in contemporary repertory brought him to the research of new performance techniques for recorder and a careful promotion of the instrument.
He has performed the prémière of many works, often dedicated to him. He has performed in Darmstadt (International Ferienkurse für Neue Musik), Rome (l’Académie Française, Musica Verticale), Siena, Zürich (Tage für Neue Musik), Lausanne (S.I.M.C), Bonn (Beethovenhalle), Cordoba, Argentina (VIII Jornadas Internacionales de Musica Electroacustica), Bourges (Festival International de Musique Electroacoustique), Helsinki (Sibelius Akademie), and Paris. Antonio Politano had recorded CDs for RCA, BMG, Ariola, Nuova Era, Edipan, and ICMC. His concerts and recordings have been broadcast by RAI, Radio France, Radio Köln, and Radio Suisse Romande. Together with Kees Boeke, Antionio Politano created DUIX, a duo specializing in contemporary music for bass recorders and electronics. He teaches recorder at the Conservatoire de Lausanne. He is a member of Minz & Maunz. |
